Save The Date for North Texas Giving Day!

Please save the date for North Texas Giving Day!

September 17, 2020

This year, on Thursday, September 17, 2020, the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation is participating in Communities Foundation of Texas’ North Texas Giving Day, a one-day online giving extravaganza for our whole region. Last year, we were part of the success as Communities Foundation of Texas brought together nearly 3,000 local nonprofits like us to raise $50 million for our region. Since its founding in 2009, North Texas Giving Day has inspired people to get up and give, resulting in increased donations and services provided in North Texas. We invite you to join the movement and help us reach our goal of $42,000 on September 17. Here’s how you can help:

 1. Get up and give on September 17! Your gift matters! Not available on September 17? No worries! Make your gift early between September 1 and September 16! https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/hendrick-scholarship-foundation

2. Spread the word! Spread the word to your friends and loved ones about the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation and North Texas Giving Day! Don’t forget to tag Hendrick Scholarship Foundation and #NTxGivingDay if you’re posting online! Encourage your friends and family to get up and give as well! Communities Foundation of Texas is even offering a prize for the social media post that’s shared the most!

3. Follow us! Follow our social media facebook.com/hendrickscholarshipfoundation and facebook.com/NorthTexasGivingDay to stay up to date on North Texas Giving Day! For more information on North Texas Giving Day, visit NorthTexasGivingDay.org!

Women’s Division Sponsors a 3 Year Scholarship for HSF!

The Women’s Division of Plano Chamber of Commerce has established a three-year sponsorship of a scholarship for a female Hendrick scholar to recognize her academic achievements and perseverance of her goals.  The Women’s Division promotes women in business and also reflects on ways to support organizations that help strengthen and make our community more vibrant.  For 29 years, the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation has provided Plano ISD graduates, who have overcome adversity in their young lives, with scholarships and a unique support system to promote success in life through education.  By helping fund a scholarship, the Women’s Division is helping students open the door to their future.  Together, we are more than a degree; we’re changing lives.

NTT DATA Services Supports HSF!

Headquartered in Plano, Texas, NTT DATA Services is a division of NTT DATA Corporation, a top 10 global IT services provider. Their team of more than 50,000 professionals works with clients around the world to address current and future technology and business opportunities.

Not only is NTT DATA a leader in its industry, it is also a leader in local community involvement and support. Their team has stepped up, particularly during this pandemic, to provide guidance and mentorship to the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation (HSF) here in Plano in the areas of web design, grant writing and communications planning. They also sponsored our TASTE event in February 2020.

In March of this year, HSF was invited to participate in the NTT DATA Services Women Inspire NTT DATA (WIN) Speaker Series, which included Tenet Healthcare Corporation CIO Paola Arbour. Two of our scholars attended and spoke from their hearts about HSF and their journey through college. It was an amazing opportunity to gather insight and to be among such fantastic women.

We appreciate NTT DATA Services and all they are doing to help us realize our mission!

King of the Grill Online Auction is a Success!

Thank you to all who participated in our very first Hendrick Online Auction. It was a huge success.  We received many bids for the King of the Grill package, and the winning bid placed was $675.00.

Thanks to your enthusiasm we are that much closer to paying for an HSF student’s Fall tuition. Your participation helps support scholars who are working diligently to pursue a college degree to lift them out of the cycle of hardship.

Our students should not be faced with deciding whether to fund their basic living expenses or continuing their college education.  They need our scholarship to continue what they have started.  Thank you for being a part of the difference!

Keep an eye out for July’s auction information. The auction package will be revealed soon.

COVID-19 Update

Here is an update from the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation as we all cope with the ever-changing Covid-19 crisis and navigate to a “new normal.”

Our Hendrick Scholars are experiencing various levels of change, such as moving out of dorms or transitioning to online learning.  We remain fully committed to supporting our students during this time.  To that end, we have moved to web-based communications, as our Hendrick Success Coaches stay in touch with and support our students.  We also are hosting workshops for our students through Zoom.   We are connecting students to community resources, as needed.

At this time, please remember that now more than ever, nonprofits need consistent funding, because those that they serve are in great need. Best wishes to you and your family.
