This scholarship is named for an incredibly generous and thoughtful man who understood and appreciated the value of a quality formal education. He earned his BBA in Finance from the University of Texas and his MBA in Marketing from the University of Mississippi. He used his education to excel in business as he traveled the world. He was born and raised in Texas, but for many years worked in countries like Argentina, South Africa, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The only challenge that ever beat him was his fight with stomach cancer which took his life in 1998. His family agrees that if he were here today, the Hendrick Scholarship program would be something he would enthusiastically support. It is with that thought that the Jackie Forrest McKinney scholarship is established.
