Mahjong, Mingle & Make a Difference Raises $25,307

On August 21, 2025, the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation hosted our 1st Annual Mahjong Event at the Haggard Party Barn, welcoming 115 enthusiastic players for an evening of strategy, fun, and philanthropy. The event raised $25,307, all of which will support Hendrick Scholars—bright young adults overcoming adversity on their journey to college success.

Our exclusive experience, Mahjong, Mingle & Make a Difference, was led by Natalie Knight from All Things Mahj, and featured a special Learn & Play session from 4:30 to 6:00 PM for 16 attendees who wanted to sharpen their skills before the main event. Tiles were generously sponsored by Southern Sparrow, and the beautiful floral arrangements were donated by Sand and Lavender Floral and Event Design.

Guests enjoyed an evening of tiles, tables, and triumph, with game play beginning at 6:30 PM after light bites and beverages were served. Players competed for prizes, socialized with friends old and new, and made a tangible difference for Hendrick Scholars.

Whether seasoned at Mahjong or trying it for the first time, attendees experienced fun, friendly competition, and the satisfaction of supporting students who are pursuing higher education despite obstacles.
