RoseMary & Tom Sifferman Forever Scholarship

This endowed scholarship has been established to recognize the importance of education and honor the 50-year marriage of Tom Sifferman and his late wife, RoseMary Sifferman.

RoseMary started her career as an elementary and special education teacher in Indiana and was always a fierce proponent for the power of education. In fact, RoseMary insisted on a family move to Plano schools so that one of her children would have access to the focused educational support and resources she needed to succeed.

RoseMary and Tom had three children attend and graduate through PISD schools, so they have a long tie to PISD and the Plano community. And they have always been supporters of higher education, pursing and achieving graduate degrees at Purdue University – a Master’s in Education for RoseMary and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering for Tom – both having been first generation college students in their families.

Asked why he was supporting an endowed scholarship, Tom replied that he “wanted to give to something that has ongoing and lasting impact for students from our community” and that “education is access to a bright future”
