Ray and Shelley Strickland wanted to name this scholarship in honor of Shelley’s mother, André Davidson, for her lifelong passion of education and for having such a positive impact to the Plano community through her countless volunteer and leadership roles. One of André’s proudest moments is when she graduated cum laude from the University of Dallas with a general studies degree 24 years from when she had to withdraw from college because of medical issues. She’s always shown determination and optimism for everything she encounters. Knowing the Hendrick Scholars share those same traits is what inspired this named scholarship.
