Student Success Committee

The SSC was created at HSF’s inception to provide governance and support to the MISSION of the scholarship program. The SSC is comprised of board members, current and retired educators (from both Plano ISD and Collin College), and other community volunteers.

The SSC oversees the new student selection process. The committee reviews all new student applications and essays to select students to be interviewed and ultimately recommends the students for acceptance into the Hendrick scholarship program for Board approval. Student selection criteria includes economic need, character, grit and determination, and academic progress in high school.

Additional responsibilities of the SSC include oversight of the following organizational components: Student Data, Success Coaches, Student Coordinators, Workshop Coordinator, and Tutor Coordinator.

The SSC meets monthly to assess the progress of students and the coaching program, with a goal to provide consistency in operations and guidance to positively influence all major student decisions for fair outcomes.
